Our promise, up front

We are a family running a lodge on a lake — not a data company. The information you share with us exists for one purpose: helping you have a great stay in the San Juan Mountains. We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Ever. No advertisers, no data brokers, no “partners.” That is the whole policy in one sentence; the rest is detail.

What we collect, and why

If you just browse: almost nothing. We don't run ads or advertising trackers. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs — the kind every website has — to keep the site running and secure.

If you create a guest account: your name, email address, and password (stored encrypted by Supabase, our database provider — we never see your password). If you sign in with Google, Google confirms your identity and shares your name and email with us; we never see your Google password either.

If you use the guest portal: we keep what you create — your trip itineraries, the photos you submit, and the questions you ask us — so they're there when you come back. Submitted photos stay private until you're told otherwise: they appear publicly only after we review and approve them for the gallery.

If you join the newsletter: just your email. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately, no questions asked.

If you inquire about a stay: the contact details and dates you send us, used to reply to you and arrange your visit — nothing more.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies — the ones that keep you signed in to your guest account. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking. Our pages embed Google Maps so you can find restaurants and trailheads; Google may set its own cookies through those maps, governed by Google's privacy policy.

Who touches your data

A short, honest list of the services that make this site work: Supabase (our database and sign-in system), Vercel (website hosting), Google (optional sign-in, and maps), and Resend (delivers our emails). Each receives only what it needs to do its job. We use AI assistance (Anthropic's Claude) to help draft blog articles about the Durango area — that never involves your personal information.

Your choices, always

Want to see what we have, fix something, or be forgotten entirely? Email us at hello@durangogetaway.com and we'll take care of it — including deleting your account and everything in it. You can also delete your own uploaded photos and itineraries yourself, any time, from your guest portal.

Children

Our site isn't designed to collect information from children under 13, and we don't knowingly do so. Kids are wonderful — bring them to the lake, not to our database.

If this policy changes

We'll update this page and the date at the top. The one-sentence promise above will not change.
